Laundry is one of those tasks that seems never-ending and is rather daunting. No matter how often you wash clothes, it seems that there is another pile of dirty clothes sitting there waiting for you to tend to it. When you get through that pile, yet another is waiting. To make doing your laundry less treacherous, you can create a laundry space that is less cluttered and more enjoyable to use.
If your laundry room doesn't have cabinets already, it is time for you to consider having some installed. These cabinets can be used for several things – you can of course store your laundry detergent, fabric softener, stain treatments and dryer sheets in them, but then, you have all of the other stuff that ends up laying around in the laundry room.
Some custom additions to the cabinets include:
When you hide these things inside the cabinet so that they are only pulled out when you need them, the room will feel larger and more organized making it less daunting to use. Contact a cabinet dealer, like CFA Cabinetry, for more ideas.
Socks are probably one of the worst parts of laundry. They disappear, they are a pain to sort once they are clean and then, you have the missing sock that shows up long after you have thrown away its mate.
To make washing socks a little easier, consider getting each member of the family a mesh laundry sack to keep in their rooms. This sack can be filled with their dirty socks, carried to the laundry room and sent through the wash after being cinched closed. Then, after you have washed and dried the socks, you simply send the sack back to the room where they belong and you have completed the sock ritual with much less work.
Hang a line of twine across an open wall in your laundry room, or get some magnet clips to hang on the front of your machines. When you find a sock that doesn't have a mate, hang it up until the mate comes out of hiding.
These two changes will have a huge impact on how quickly and efficiently you can get your laundry done each week. Think about each change and begin working to include them in your laundry area and surely, the space will be more organized and the task much less daunting for you to complete.Share
